What We Believe
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old Testament and New Testament are the inerrant, inspired, and infallible Word of God, and that God’s Word is the final authority for faith and life.
We believe in One True and Living God who is eternal, and who reveals Himself as one being, co-existing in three Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah born of the virgin Mary, who led a sinless life and had a miraculous ministry. We believe in His atoning death for the forgiveness of all sins through the shedding of His blood. We believe that he physically rose again on the third day and ascended to the right hand of the Father and that He will return in power and glory.
We believe Man was created in the image of God, male and female, but marred that image of his own free will, thereby damaging his (and future generations') relationship with God.
We believe that salvation is solely by the grace of God through faith in the finished work of Christ alone, who died, was buried and on the third day rose again. That only through His death and resurrection we are saved.
We believe that through Salvation there is an instantaneous and complete work of the Holy Spirit upon initial faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that, in accordance with God's Word, Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer: in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. (Note that full immersion should be the normal practice, unless there are sound medical reasons, in which case baptism by 'affusion' would be used)
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and that all gifts of the Holy Spirit are for the Church today.
We believe that as believers in Jesus Christ we should partake in the breaking of bread and do this often as is commanded by Jesus.
We believe in the priest hood of all believers (i.e. that the means of grace (or sacraments) may be administered by any believer ), that we should fellowship together regularly, that Jesus Christ is the head of the local fellowship, and therefore the local church is autonomous, free of any external authority or control. Within the local church we should expect the five fold ministry as in Ephesians 4:11, "It was He (Jesus) who gave some to be (1) apostles, some to be (2) prophets, some to be (3) evangelists, and some to be (4) pastor and (5) teachers."
we believe in "the personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.
